IN CONTROL is an interactive narrative based computer game that is meant to educate users about mental health and provide resources for people looking for more information or potential care. The game defines and categorizes mental health disorders and provides interactive scenarios to simulate situations where users might come into conflict with people with various mental health disorders.
What was the Problem?
There are a shockingly low number of young adults in North America receiving effective help or  access to mental health resources. This is a problem because with the increase in mental health issues in today's society, the lack of visibility of resources will lead to the detriment of young adult’s mental wellness.  People do not know how to communicate properly about mental health and lack of communication leads to conflict and the breakdown of relationships.
What is the Solution?
“In Control” will be the resource that provides not only young adults but the general public with a link to available mental health resources. The game will not only provide a database of information of mental health disorders but also links to articles and provides an interactive map to direct users to nearby mental health resources.
